Job Summary Performs skilled work in the operation of complex construction/maintenance equipment. An employee in this class is responsible for performing tasks of more than average difficulty involving the safe operation and routine maintenance of assigned equipment. Tasks, at times, are performed under hazardous conditions and employees are expected to be particularly alert and careful. Under general supervision, employees are required to exercise initiative and independent judgment in completing assigned tasks. Work is reviewed while in progress and upon completion by observation and through results obtained.
Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma/GED;
two (2) years of experience in the operation of assigned equipment required; or an equivalent combination of education, training or experience. Must be able to read, write, and follow instructions. Florida Commercial Driver's License Class B or higher

3rd Axle Dump Truck
Definition:
Complex, large equipment that normally requires formal and/or extensive training averaging three (3) months. Equipment is normally transported or operated on public roadways sometimes requiring a small crew. The consequence of errors can be major in terms of cost or repairs and damage to both public and private property and equipment. There is a chance of major injury to other employees and citizens.
