    Position Description
    Performs professional level work at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center by conducting classes on a per-course or limited-term basis, without any guarantee of continuing employment. Responsibilities encompass the coordination and instruction of one or more courses within a prescribed curriculum. Teachers in this classification usually specialize in the academic subject, professional discipline or technical skill being taught at the time of employment. Work is performed under general supervision with evaluation based upon results obtained. May supervise subordinate employees assigned to area of responsibility.

    Major/Essential Functions
    • Provides clinical instruction to nursing students in assigned specialty areas, ensuring safe and effective patient care practices.
    • Facilitates students' application of classroom knowledge to real-world patient care through guided clinical experiences.
    • Demonstrates and coaches students in clinical skills, critical thinking, prioritization, and evidence-based nursing practice.
    • Evaluates students' performance in the clinical setting, providing timely, constructive feedback to support growth and competency.
    • Collaborates with clinical site staff to support patient-centered care and maintain positive clinical learning environments.
    • Ensures compliance with agency policies, professional standards, and program requirements during clinical activities.
    • Completes required clinical documentation, including student evaluations, incident reports, and attendance records.
    • May assist with simulation learning experiences, skills check-offs, and clinical remediation as needed.


    Occasional Duties


    Required Qualifications
    • Master's Degree in Nursing (MSN).
    • Minimum of two (2) years of recent clinical experience in a relevant patient care setting (e.g., med-surg, critical care, maternal/child, pediatrics, community health, etc.).
    • Unencumbered RN license from the state of Texas.
