Job Description Location: Central Office - 123 Robert S. Kerr
Salary: up to $77,550.00, based on education and experience
Full Time /Part Time: Full Time
Work Schedule: Monday to Friday
Primary Hours: 8am to 5pm
Position Description: This position functions under the direct supervision of the Nutrition Services Manager for WIC and Community Nutrition Services. This position provides statewide leadership for funding development, fiscal oversight, and programmatic coordination of community nutrition services to ensure sustainable, compliant, and high-quality service delivery.
Position Responsibilities/Essential Functions: - Identify, pursue, and secure federal, state, and private grant funding to support community health and nutrition initiatives.
- Lead grant development activities, including needs assessment, proposal writing, partner coordination, and submission.
- Oversee budgets associated with funded projects and programs, ensuring fiscal accountability, allowability of expenses, and alignment with grant objectives.
- Monitor expenditures and collaborate with administrative and financial staff to ensure compliance with funding requirements.
- Develop and oversee billing processes and procedures to ensure program sustainability and compliance with applicable regulations.
- Provide supervision, training, and oversight for registered dietitian nutritionist and lactation specialist staff.
- Develop and implement project plans aligned with grant priorities and other funding sources, ensuring timely deliverables and required reporting.
- Ensure program compliance with applicable local, state, and federal laws, regulations, and contractual obligations.
- Lead the development, implementation, and periodic review of policies, procedures, and training materials guiding community nutrition services statewide.
- Provide leadership and technical assistance to county health departments and community partners to strengthen nutrition-related service delivery.
- Serve as a nutrition subject matter expert, interpreting complex regulations and translating them into operational guidance for staff and partners.
- Oversee staff development initiatives and coordinate statewide training and professional education activities.
- Provide consultation and technical assistance to internal and external partners on life-cycle nutrition-related programs, policies, and best practices.
- Lead or participate in assigned state-level task forces, workgroups, and committees.
- Lead or participate in Preparing for a Lifetime initiatives, with a focus on strategies to reduce infant mortality.
- Represent the agency at state and national meetings, conferences, and partnerships, as assigned.
- Develop and deliver presentations and trainings in a variety of formats (i.e. in-person, virtual, recorded, etc.).
- Respond to applicable media inquiries in coordination with leadership and communications staff.
- Being present at the office is an essential function of the job.
- Other duties as assigned.
Other Duties - Works independently, exercises sound judgment, demonstrates a high level of initiative, and manages multiple projects with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Demonstrates knowledge of and supports mission, vision, value statements, standards, policies and procedures, operating instructions, confidentiality standards, and the code of ethical behavior for OSDH.
- Works effectively in team environment, participating and assisting their peers.
- Performs related work as required and assigned.
Minimum Qualifications: Consists of registration as a dietitian or dietitian nutritionist (RD or RDN) with the Commission on Dietetic Registration and licensure with the Oklahoma State Board of Medical Licensure and Supervision plus 4 years of experience as a registered dietitian. A master’s degree in public health with a major in nutrition or a master’s degree with an emphasis on nutrition may substitute for one year of experience.

Physical Demands and Work Environment: Work is typically performed in an office setting with climate-controlled settings and exposure to moderate noise levels. While performing the duties of the job, employees are required to talk, stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms; carry light items; drive an automobile. This position requires long periods of sitting and daily use of computers and phones. Applicants must be willing to perform all job-related travel associated with this position. Occasionally, in state overnight and weekend travel may be required. Being present at the office is an essential function of the job
