The PositionThe County Library is seeking a technically skilled and service-oriented professional to support and advance the technology that keeps our libraries connected and accessible. This position plays a key role in providing hands-on technical support, system oversight, and staff training across the all library locations. Working collaboratively with library staff, consortia partners, and system providers, the incumbent helps ensure the reliable operation, security, and continuous improvement of the Library’s automated systems. This is an opportunity for a detail-oriented, problem-solving individual who enjoys supporting users, maintaining diverse technologies, and contributing to the day-to-day success of a public library system serving over 130,000 residents, circulating over one million items and with hundreds of thousands of visitors annually.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS Experience and Education : To qualify for this classification, an individual must possess any combination of experience and education that would likely produce the required knowledge and abilities. A desirable combination is:
Experience: One year of experience involving the application, operation, or repair of computer equipment. Experience in a public library environment is desired.
Education: Equivalent to two years of college with course work in computer science, information processing, telecommunications, electronics or a related field. (Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the college education on a year-for-year basis.)
License or Certificate:* Possession of a valid California Driver's License.
*Any license, certification, or registration required for this position shall be maintained (i.e. active and in good standing) at all times during employment with Napa County. For continued employment with Napa County, you must maintain such license, certification, or registration to meet the minimum qualifications of this position.
