    LOS ANGELES COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH
    TRANSFER OPPORTUNITY ANNOUNCEMENT

    TYPE OF RECRUITMENT
    LATERAL TRANSFER (NON-COUNTY EMPLOYEES ARE NOT ELIGIBLE TO APPLY).

    The Department of Public Health's Operations Support Bureau - Vital Records is seeking a well-qualified individual to fill the position of Intermediate Typist-Clerk.

    All interested employees who currently hold the payroll title of Intermediate Typist-Clerk are invited to submit a cover letter, their resume, and copies of their last two (2) performance evaluations.

    Essential Job Functions

    • Assisting funeral directors with requests for death records.
    • Printing death certificates.
    • Processing mail order requests.
    • Answering phone inquiries and assisting customers at the service window.
    • Maintaining training certificates.
    • Daily voicemail retrieval.
    • Fax distribution.
    • Ordering office supplies and scheduling trainings.


    Requirements

    Must currently be a permanent Los Angeles County employee who has passed their initial probationary period and currently holds the payroll title of Intermediate Typist-Clerk .

    DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
    • Strong organizational skills.
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
    • Working knowledge of birth and death records.
    • Ability to work effectively and productively with minimal supervision.
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality and security of sensitive information.
    • Customer service orientated.
    • Cash handling experience.
