    The Job

    Performance, Education, & Resource Centers (PERC) is recruiting for a Public Service Employee (PSE). This position includes entry level duties and may only be allocated as Extra Help or Recurrent. PSE duties are commensurate with the responsibilities of the temporary assignment in which they have been assigned. Duties will primarily include, but are not limited to, office/clerical support tasks.

    Note: This is a recurrent, non-regular, limited duration, unclassified Public Service Employee (PSE) position. The successful candidate shall be considered at-will throughout the term of their employment and will not attain regular status.

    CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

    Public Service Employee (PSE): Public Service Employees are considered at-will, temporary positions. PSEs do not gain regular status and assignments will not exceed twelve (12) months or 2080 hours.

    Pre-employment Process: Incumbents must successfully complete a background check, including fingerprinting, prior to appointment.

    Travel: Travel throughout the County may be required. Employees may be required to make provisions for transportation (mileage reimbursement may be available at current IRS rates).

    Sponsorship: San Bernardino County is not able to consider candidates who will require visa sponsorship at the time of application or in the future.

    Minimum Requirements

    • Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age
    • High School Diploma or equivalent


    Desired Qualifications

    Experience: Six (6) months of paid work experience. Duties should include a variety of tasks, including, public service contact (in-person, via telephone, and/or online support), computer usage, typing, filing, answering the telephone and data entry.
