    Week 1 Foundations of the Road Dive into our engaging computerized training, mastering the essential knowledge for bus, van and bus helper operations. Become eligible to take your permit test, the first step towards your driving dreams.
    Week 2 Observing the Masters Experience the road firsthand, observing seasoned bus drivers in action. Gain valuable insights and practical knowledge from the best.
    Week 3 Behind the Wheel - Your Turn to Shine Take control! Begin your behind-the-wheel training, guided by expert instructors. Develop the skills and confidence to navigate our roads with precision. Weeks 4+ Mastering the Craft Continue honing your skills with personalized training tailored to your progress.
    By week 4, most are ready to apply for their official Minnesota bus driver's license! Additional training will be provided as needed until you are comfortable and ready.

    Summary:
    Duluth Public Schools is seeking an individual to safely transport students to and from school and school related functions within scheduled times, maintaining proper student conduct during transport. To perform pre-trip inspections and assist with maintenance on student transport vehicles to ensure they are in safe operating condition. To provide written reports related to student transport

    Minimum Qualifications:
    • Requires a minimum of a high school diploma or GED
    • or an equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience necessary to successfully perform the essential functions of the work.
    • Must possess a valid Minnesota driver's license.
    • Ability to obtain CDL license with passenger and school bus endorsements.
    • Must be able to pass a drug test, DOT physical and criminal history background check.

    Additional Information:
    • Employer will pay and provide training to obtain CDL license.

    • Single Coverage - District pays 100% of premium (FREE) + contributes $2,612.50 into HRA annually
    • Family Coverage - District pays 75% of premium (25% employee contribution) + contributes $5,225.00 into HRA annually
    Dental Plan
    • Single Coverage - District pays 100% of Basic premium (FREE)
    • Family Coverage - District pays 25% of Premium
    Life Insurance
    • District provides minimum of $50,000 of life insurance at no cost, employee may purchase supplemental life insurance
    Long Term Disability
    • District-provided at no cost to employee
    Flexible Spending Accounts
    • Employees may elect to contribute on a pre-tax basis to Health Flexible Spending Accounts and Dependent Care Accounts
    Retirement
    • The District contributes 7.25% of your total salary in the Public Employees Retirement Association) pension plan.
    • Employees may also elect to participate in Tax-Shelter Annuity options.
    Time Off
    • Each bargaining unit contract defines time off provisions such as holidays, sick/personal leave, vacation, etc.
