The Office of Employee Engagement is looking for an experienced and dynamic employee relations professional to create and maintain positive relationships with employees and leadership! The position involves supporting the workforce through conflict resolution, supporting and leading investigations, providing guidance for and administering discipline, supporting performance improvement, responding to employee requests consistent with federal laws, performing position classification reviews, and supporting initiatives for a healthy work environment.

The salary indicated represents a base pay rate. If the individual selected or the position is eligible for a pay differential (e.g., shift, security, or years of service), it will be added to the total compensation in your paycheck. A pay differential does not raise your base pay.
- Handle employee relations cases including preparing for, leading, and documenting investigations.
- Administer Performance Improvement Plans and disciplinary actions, including dismissals.
- Work through the interactive process for requests made under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
- Evaluate and respond to requests for leave under the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA).
- Ensure compliance with federal and state laws, statewide policies, and OA policies and practices.
- Review duties and responsibilities assigned to positions for proper job classification.
- Keep and provide well-maintained documentation for work performed.
- Remain current on federal and state employment laws.
- Stay informed of and implement HR best practices in performance of work.
- Develop, implement, and interpret administrative policies.
- Collaborate closely with legal staff, OA leadership, teammates, and other partners.
- Complete a variety of special assignments based upon business needs of OA.
- Perform assignments needed to support the HR team.
- Other duties that may be assigned.
Minimum Qualifications: - Two or more years of successful autonomous employee relations investigative experience including administering discipline.
- Two or more years of knowledge and skill in preparing for and leading HR investigations.
- Knowledge of federal and state employment laws.
- Knowledge of OA’s organizational structure and workforce.
- Knowledge of concepts of position classification.
- Ability to objectively gather facts.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to record key details and keep well-maintained documentation.
- Ability to analyze information and offer conclusions.
- Ability to be professional, positive, and productive.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- Ability to work well both independently and in a team environment.
- Ability to collaborate.
- Ability to be resourceful and proactive when issues arise.
- Ability to manage multiple open cases at one time.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.

- Experience with Microsoft Office products, particularly Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
