We are recruiting to fill a Server Administration Supervisor II position to perform the planning, coordination and security of operating systems, server, storage, and virtual infrastructure implementation. Duties may also include database or network administration, developing utility scripts, and other computer information technology specialties.
- Determines and defines work assignments, delegates work related to the efficient operation of all OSCA server functionality, and sets priorities
- Provides specific instructions, guidance, and training to assigned staff and reviews work for completeness and accuracy
- Manages, controls, coordinates and prioritizes all systems activities to ensure task completion
- Confers with management relative to strategic planning, long term priorities and agency goals; implements data-gathering and programming techniques; directs feasibility studies; recommends computer information technology solutions; and manages project implementation
- Supervises the development and application of standards and procedures necessary to develop, install, and maintain efficient computer information technology systems
Minimum qualifications Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree with at least 15 semester hours in computer science, computer information systems, or closely related areas and 4 years of experience in professional and technical computer systems.
Additional experience above the minimum stated may be substituted on a year for year basis for the required education.
Preferred qualifications - Considerable knowledge of supervisory techniques and administrative practices
- Extensive knowledge of the agency’s automated information systems
- Extensive knowledge of continuing trends and developments in computer hardware and software
- Extensive knowledge of data query and manipulation techniques, various computer applications, and principles and practices of computer information technology
- Ability to organize and direct the preparation and maintenance of standards, policies, procedures, guidelines, program documentation and technical manuals
