Why you’ll love this position:Hawthorn Children's Psychiatric Hopstal provides specalized care for children and adolescents disagnosed with mental illness. We are looking for a positive and energetic Utilization Review Assistant who has an interest in assisting the HCPH Intake Department with case reviews for insurance providers. This is a PRN (as needed) position that requires scheduling flexibility in collaboration with the Utilization Review Coordinator.
The Utilization Review Department is responsible for evaluating the appropriateness, medical need, and efficiency of the treatment services provided to the clients admitted to the facility. The UR Assistant will also interface with external medical providers/specialists to schedule appointments for consumers upon physician requests. The UR Assistant is supervised by the Utilization Review Director, and assists the UR Coordinator with pre-certification, concurrent inpatient clinical reviews, and clinical case appeals. The UR Assistant works closely with the UR Coordinator to manage an active caseload, and assists the UR Coordinator with procurement and preparation of documentation for insurance reviews of provided treatment to consumers.
Minimum Qualifications: - A Master's Degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university and one or more years professional experience as a Registered Nurse or a Bachelor's Degree of Nursing from an accredited college or univserity and two or more years of professional experience as a Registered Nurse or an Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university or a Diploma in Nursing and three or more years of professional expereince as a Registered Nurse
- Must be proficient in verbal and written communications
- Ability to read and analyze clinical information
- Solid clinical knowledge of child/adolescent psychiatry, specifically medical nursing and social services
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and established databases
- Prior electronic health record management and maintenance preferred
Speical Requirements: - Possession of a current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Missouri or in accordance with Missouri's Nurse Licensure Compact at the time of appointment.
