Current vacancy is with the Resource Management Agency located in Visalia. The anticipated life of the list is six months.Typical Duties- Use computer software, digital printers and plotters to design and fabricate traffic signs.
- Use hand and power tools, and airless spray equipment.
- Stripe roadways and apply pavement markings in paint and thermoplastic.
- Assemble and install solar-powered traffic safety devices.
- Observe and report signs in need of repair, obstructions to sign view and other potential safety hazards.

Minimum QualificationsMinimum qualifications are used as a guide for establishing the education, training, experience, special skills and/or license which are required and equivalent to the following.
Education: - Equivalent to completion of the twelfth(12 th ) grade.
Knowledge of: - Ability to read and write in English
- Basic math sufficient to make and install signs to specifications.
Skill/Ability to: - Work and communicate effectively with people of various education and socioeconomic backgrounds by respecting beliefs, interpersonal styles and behaviors of both clients and co-workers
- Operate contemporary office equipment inclusive of computer, keyboard, printers, scanners, and all applicable electronic equipment.
- Read gauges such as foot-o-meters.
- Drive a single vehicle with a GVWR of more than 26,000 pounds.
- Use a variety of hand and power tools such as hammers, drills, chainsaws, augers, presses, shovels, and post hole-diggers.
- Safe work practices.
- Follow daily work layout instructions.
- Keep a daily diary.
- Understand and follow verbal and written instructions such as work assignments, maps, and shop manuals.
- Maintain sign inventory and equipment service records.
- May read plans and blueprints.
- Use a two-way radio.
- May prepare and maintain a variety of work records.
License or Certificate: - Have or attain a “Class B” driver’s license and a tanker endorsement two (2) weeks prior to the expiration of the one-year probationary period. Attainment of the Class B license is a condition of employment.
DESIRABLE EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS Knowledge of: - California Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices (CAMUTCD) standards pertaining to proper positioning and mounting of traffic signs.
- Sign construction materials and methods.

Skill/Ability to: - Read maps and blueprints.

- Operate a hydraulic auger.
- Drive a single vehicle with a GVWR of more than 26,000 pounds.

Limit of 300 hours.
Sick Leave Accrual: 12 days per year with unlimited accumulation, 60 hours of which may be used toward family sick leave.
