Must have or be able to obtain a valid NC driver’s license within 30 days of hire, lift up to 50lbs, and walk, stand, and see and hear animals in exhibits.
• NCLWF Acquisition Project Manager – Location: Wake County, NC, Job Duties: maintain project schedule and update Board of Directors on project status and assist in grant application process. Requires a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a natural science or related field and at least one year of related experience.

Department of Environmental Quality

• Administrative Specialist II – Location: Wake County, NC, Job Duties: provides administrative, budgetary, and clerical assistance to Chemistry Laboratory and Water Sciences Section. This position is also responsible for inventories. Must have high school diploma or equivalent and at least 4 years of administrative experience.
• Engineer – Location: Wake County, NC, Job Duties: energy and environmental analysis, review and modeling, project management, and developing and conducting presentations. Must have a bachelor’s degree in applicable field of engineering. May also require registration as a professional engineer by the North Carolina Board of Examiners for Engineers and Surveyors.

Department of Health and Human Services

• Building Manager (Wright School) – Location: Durham County, NC, Job Duties: this position is designed to be split 50/50 between administrative duties such as budgeting and planning and hands-on duties including taking the lead on new projects and filling in for staff as needed. Must have a high school diploma or equivalent and either 3 years applicable facility maintenance experience or journey level experience in at least 3 building or mechanical trades.

• Behavior Analyst – Location: Burke County, NC, Job Duties: develop and provide evaluations and treatment programs for residents of a center caring for individuals diagnosed with a variety of intellectual disorders and developmental disabilities. Must possess one of the following in addition to a Master’s degree in psychology or related field:
  • Certification as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)
  • Currently enrolled in a Verified Course Sequence recognized by the Association for Behavior Analysis International and supervised by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst.
  • Bachelor’s degree with certification as a Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst with at least two years of experience.

Department of Information Technology

• Applications Systems Analyst I – Location: Wake County, NC, Job Duties: perform analysis and programming associated with existing applications or develop new applications in .NET/.NET Core framework using C# language. Must have at least one of the following:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or an IT related field
  • Associate degree in Computer Science or an IT related field or related technical degree and one year of experience in business application consulting or development
  • High School diploma or equivalent and four years of experience in business application consulting or development
• Director of IT Service Excellence – Location: Wake County, NC, Job Duties: lead the IT service excellence team and improve operational strategies, track performance and develop staff. Must possess one of the following:
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or IT related field and six years of progressive experience in the related area, including at least two years of managerial experience
  • Associate degree in computer science or IT related field and seven years of progressive experience in the related area, including at least two years of managerial experience
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience

Department of Revenue

• Administrative Lead Exams – Location: Wake County, NC, Job Duties: offer administrative support to Central Examinations Division, maintain security regarding federal tax information. Requires high school diploma or equivalent and 3 years of office management or administrative experience.
• Supervisory Field Auditor – Location: New Hanover County, NC, Job Duties: oversee audit team and program(s), conduct independent examinations. Requires a minimum of bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Accounting or related field with at least eighteen semester hours of accounting and one year of experience as a Field Auditor I or equivalent.

Department of Public Safety

• Assistant Plant Manager – Location: Columbus County, NC, Job Duties: organizing and directing plant operation, including the direct supervision of 5 employees and indirect supervision of up to 105 employees. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and 3 years of industry experience. All applicants must demonstrate the following experience:
  • hands-on Lasier Cutting with Modaris and Brio spreaders.

• Charge Nurse – Location: Multiple Counties, Job Duties: coordinating with other health care staff, maintaining documentation, providing patient care and education to offenders in a state adult correction facility, and more. Must have a license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of North Carolina and one year of nursing experience.

Department of Military and Veterans Affairs

• Grounds Worker – Location: Cumberland County, NC, Job Duties: performing support activities involved in burial operations at Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery located in Fort Bragg, NC, landscaping duties in and around the cemetery. This position requires 2 years of relevant experience.
• Veterans Services Officer – Location: Forsyth County, NC, Job Duties: this position’s primary purpose is to assist veterans and their dependants with claims for benefits. It may also include work on difficult cases which, as the claimant’s advocate, may require contacting the NC Department of Social Services, doctors, or attorneys. Must be an honorably discharged veteran who served on active duty in the armed forces during the period specified in Section 101, Title 38, U.S. C. Requires a bachelor’s degree and 2 years of relevant experience.

Department of Transportation

• Engineering Technician III – Location: Wake County, NC, Job Duties: perform a variety of material tests in accordance with standards set by the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO), American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM), or the Department of Transportation. Must have an Associate’s degree in Civil Engineering Technology and 3 years of progressive technician level experience.
• Transportation Worker – Location: Multiple Counties, Job Duties: use of tools and equipment in the maintenance, repair, and construction of roads, other supportive tasks during road work. This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, drug screening, background check, and steel-toe footwear.

Department of Administration

• HVAC Mechanic II – Location: Wake County, NC, Job Duties: install, service, and troubleshoot HVAC equipment, operate and provide technical assistance for DDC automation systems. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and 4 years of progressive HVAC experience, including one year at the journey level. Also requires current certification by the Environmental Protection Agency as a Type I, II, III or Universal technician as required by Title 40, Code of Federal Regulations part 82, subpart F. Must also have a valid NC driver’s license or, if out-of-state, obtain NC license within 60 days of hire.
• Director of Non-Public Education – Location: Wake County, NC, Job Duties: the primary purpose of this position is to be the liaison between state government, conventional private elementary and secondary schools, home schools, and the public. The Director also oversees the daily operation of the Division. Requires a Master’s degree in education and 5 years of public education experience, with 2 of those years being in a supervisory position.
