    THE POSITION
    We invite you to join the high performing team at the Town of Prescott Valley, serving as our Administrative Specialist II for the Development Services Department.If you have a desire to serve the community in which you live, we encourage you to apply.

    Examples of Duties

    In this position you will:
    Perform basic bookkeeping/accounting, prepare purchase orders and requisitions. Track and reconcile purchasing cards.Assist in annual department budget administration, preparation and tracking.
    Assist with the administration of Building Code Cases, including legal notice preparation, proofreading and processing.
    Coordinate and schedule Staff meetings, conferences, training and travel.
    Assist in maintaining accurate employee records and files. Data entry, mail distribution, ordering supplies, filing and records management.
    Review department staff reports and materials for Town Council, Board and/or Commission meetings for accuracy and enter materials into agenda management software as needed.
    Prepare and distribute legal notices, postings, agendas and packets for public hearings and special meetings.
    Utilize Town computer programs and applications for permitting, agenda management, records request, time sheets, personnel, financial and contract agreement tracking.
    Act as the Clerk for Boards and Commissions to include keeping minutes.
    Assist with public records requests.
    Assist with front counter duties, answering phones, emails and questions from citizens, developers and contractors.

    Typical Qualification

    Needs to have/ be:
    Associates degree and a minimum of four (4) years of progressively responsible administrative and fiscal experience; or a high school diploma/equivalent with six (6) years of progressively responsible administration and fiscal experience.
    Ability to pass a pre-employment background including driving record.
    Ability to type/key 60 words per minute.
    Working knowledge of basic accounting procedures and policies; payroll and personnel administrative procedures and municipal methods, functions and services.
    Excellent interpersonal communications and customer service skills.
    Compensation:

    The Town's complete compensation package includes salary, benefits, and a high-performance culture. The Town package includes a no-cost to individual health insurance plan, participation in the state retirement system, optional 457 deferred compensation with town match up to 6%, vacation, holidays, and additional comprehensive benefits.

    The expected hiring range is $24.84—$26.08

    The full salary range is $24.84—$34.78

    Part-time regular employees:
    • General Leave:125 hours the first 5 years then increasing after 5 years.
    • Holidays: Eleven (11) paid holidays; Six(6) hours per day for PT employees.
    • Workers' Compensation: Southwest Risk Insurance; Subsidizes lost wages and provides medical benefits as mandated by the state for on the job work related illness or injuries.
    • Fit for Life Wellness Program: The Town is dedicated to providing a safe and healthy workplace for all volunteers and paid staff. Participation is strictly voluntary. All employees and their family members are encourage to participate in wellness activities that are of interest and may aid in their personal physical and mental wellness goals.
    • Direct Deposit: Paychecks are deposited directly into the employee's bank account(s) on a bi-weekly schedule.
