The City of San José is seeking a municipal debt expert with the skill and confidence to advise and prepare financial analysis and research for other City Departments, with the ability to conduct reviews and analyses of City’s long term debt financing needs and construct the appropriate financing strategy including type of instrument, magnitude of issuance and market timing. The Debt Administrator reports to the Deputy Director of Finance overseeing the Debt & Treasury Management division of the Finance Department. As such, the Debt Administrator is part of a collaborative management team and acts as an advisor to the Director of Finance, the Assistant Director of Finance, and the Deputy Director of Finance – Debt & Treasury Management. This position manages a team of five (5) full-time employees including a senior financial analyst, three (3) financial analysts and an analyst.  

A typical qualifying applicant has extensive experience providing legal advice within a political environment, handling the variety of legal matters relevant to government/public sector, municipal, and/or private sector law, and substantial management experience in a California public sector civil law office. Only those individuals who are active members, in good standing, of the California State Bar will be considered.  

The Building and Safety Division is primarily responsible for the enforcement of Building Standards adopted by the State of California and San Bernardino County. These standards include the California Building, Electrical, Plumbing, Mechanical, and Energy Codes, and Disabled Access Regulations contained in Title 24 of the California Code of Regulations. The Division administers construction and occupancy standards and enforces applicable codes through the “permit process,” which includes permit issuance, reviewing construction plans, inspection of construction work in progress, final inspection, and issuance of Certificate of Occupancy. The Building Official plans, organizes, and directs the Building and Safety Division of the Land Use Services Department; serves as the County Building Official; performs related duties as required. The Building Official has three direct reports and a staff of 50.

The Information Technology Manager reports directly to the Engineering Director with responsibility for the day-to-day operations of the information technology system services. Over the last few years, the Marin Municipal Water District has made significant IT accomplishments and now looks forward to completing its next slate of projects. The District seeks a dynamic, experienced and well-rounded information technology manager to lead a relatively new team into the next era. The ideal candidate will be an experienced supervisor who fosters an environment of cross training and teamwork. This person will have a customer service approach and ensure that open communication flows to the other departments. The Community Development Department administers the City's General Plan, as well as the City’s zoning, building, subdivision, fire prevention, and environmental regulations, to ensure the orderly physical growth of the community. Program activities include advance and current Planning Building and Fire Safety plan check , permit issuance, and Inspection ; City Real Property and Asset Management ; and Code enforcement. The Department also oversees the Community Development Block Grant program. The Principal Civil Engineer reports to the Deputy Director of Community Development and supervises a team of eight. This position will help monitor new technological upgrades and will lead and manage professional and technical staff in the Department's Building Division. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the success of the community’s permitting and construction needs.
