Automated Health Systems

Automated Health Systems (AHS) is a national health services management company located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Since its founding in 1979, the goal of Automated Health Systems has been the promotion of health in low-income families and communities. With 200 employees and offices in 4 states, our unique focus is on administering large-scale public health programs for state and local government. We take a systems approach to helping government, community and private entities orchestrate the delivery of quality health care more cost effectively. Currently, we are responsible for the administration of statewide Information and Referral Projects, EPSDT Programs, Primary Care Case Management (PCCM), Vaccines for Children (VFC), and Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP) Enrollment Projects. Continuing changes in the health care system have prompted states to alter their approach to the delivery of services to low-income families. Burgeoning Medicaid budgets have literally mandated that Program administrators implement policies and practices that have the potential for realizing long range cost savings. Cost saving is a critical factor, but assuring that the families being served actually have access to the services is as important. To address these needs, many states have turned to Primary Care Case Management.
