About the positions: Right of Way Agent IIIs perform the most complex professional property acquisition work requiring a substantial level of professional training and experience. About the positions: Right of Way Agent IIIs perform the most complex professional property acquisition work requiring a substantial level of professional training and experience. Incumbents may also negotiate and manage leases, street vacation projects, prepare legal documents, and provide support to the City Attorney in condemnation proceedings. Work entails the use of independent judgment and the application of knowledge gained through education, professional training and experience regarding real property law, survey, appraisal, engineering, relocation, and the acquisition or vacation of rights of way. Right-of-Way Agent IIIs also provide day-to-day leadership and work with staff to ensure a high-performance, customer service-oriented work environment that supports achieving the bureau’s and the City’s mission, objectives and values. As project managers, they oversee projects by scheduling, assigning and directing processes performed by section staff and consultants; review work product; prepare cost estimates, monitor and maintain records on the financial status and the progress of work to ensure projects are completed on schedule and meet local, state or federal standards.
