Valley Water is seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to fill the Strategic Programs Administrator position within the Office of Integrated Water Management reporting to the Assistant Chief Executive Officer. The Strategic Programs Administrator serves as a strategic right-hand to the Assistant CEO helping to develop and maintain key agency-wide processes and procedures and oversee strategic projects and special initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess a unique blend of expertise in project management, financial analysis, and policy development. This position may lead and participate in the work of staff and consultants, both internally and externally.

Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Oversee a range of complex analytical and administrative projects, identify key issues, assist in setting and establishing priorities, and propose solutions in alignment with agency goals and objectives.
Evaluate and develop appropriate policies and procedures to address regulations, legislation, and projects that impact the strategic goals and direction of Valley Water.
Develop, recommend, and implement strategies, policies, and procedures to protect and promote Valley Water's interests; prepare long-range plans for operations including forecasting financial needs and preparing budgets; monitor the financial integrity of assigned programs; and identify opportunities to enhance financial strength.
Prepare and deliver presentations and briefings to staff, management, and the Board, other agencies, local, State and Federal elected officials, and their staff, and prepare comprehensive reports for Valley Water staff, management, and the Board.
Interact extensively with management, senior technical, legal, and policy staff and elected officials including other water agencies, business groups, regulatory, and governmental agencies, and environmental groups.

Office of Integrated Water Management Unit (Position Code 688)Valley Water Telework Program: Eligibility for telework will depend on the type of work performed, operational needs, and the ability for the employee to perform the essential functions of their job duties while teleworking. Employment with Valley Water requires employees to live within 150 miles of their primary physical work location located in San Jose, California by their start date.
This position is eligible for a hybrid telework schedule, typically working 40% remote and 60% onsite.
