Provide technical assistance and guidance to the engineering team, regulated facilities, public citizens, engineering consultants, legislators, and others regarding laws, regulations, and engineering requirements through in-person or online meetings, written communications, and presentations. Participate in training and technical conferences to remain current on supervisory role, engineering practices, and innovative treatment technologies, and effectively communicate this information to other Department engineers and engineering consultants. Develop and maintain an extensive working knowledge of federal, state and local regulations, technical principles and/or practices applicable to assigned projects and area of expertise, including the permitting process and the sampling and analysis of environmental media, groundwater monitoring programs at solid and hazardous waste management facilities, and fate and transport of contaminants in the environment. Minimum Qualifications & Position Requirements Education and Experience: Bachelor of Science Degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Civil Engineering, Project Management, Engineering Management or related field, and considerable experience in project management in public works related infrastructure such as sanitary sewer collection systems, water distribution systems, stormwater sewer collection systems, roadway systems, pump stations, water production plants, and wastewater plants or related field.; OR and equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferred: A Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) with the ability to obtain an Arizona P.E. within one (1) year; certified Construction Manager (CCM) certification or equivalent.
