A typical way would be: Education: Graduation from high school. A degree or degree in progress in Engineering program in a school or university is required. Experience: No experience is necessary; 6 months of paid or documented volunteer experience in a municipal agency is desirable. Licenses, Certificates, Registration: Possess a valid California Driver's license with a good driving record. Salary will be determined by experience and education. Ideal Candidate An ideal candidate would have knowledge of engineering principles and practices; use and applicability of personal and online computer systems and related software applications, including GIS and Auto CAD; applicable records and file management systems. Efficient in operation of computer equipment. Ability to: perform data entry, indexing, and mapping using computer systems, including GIS and Auto CAD; understand and carry out verbal and written instructions; and establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
