Under general supervision of school administrators, maintains a regular patrol of the school campus to prevent vandalism, loitering by non-students, and other disruptive behavior; assists in enforcement of school and district regulations; and to do related work as required.
Patrols campus during school hours providing general supervision of students outside of class;
Is alert for problems likely to disrupt educational process or be physically injurious to persons or property;
Establishes rapport with faculty and students in order to gain their trust and confidence;
Assists teachers, when requested, in dealing with unruly students;
Intervenes in situations likely to result in disruption or injury and requests students to refrain from such conduct;
Refers students to Assistant Principal's office in cases of flagrant or repeated violations of school regulations;
Records data, makes oral and written reports;
Maintains working liaison with local law enforcement agencies.
Laws, rules and regulations which apply to the conduct of juveniles; the community.
Use good judgment in emergencies and take effective action;
Work calmly with students;
Understand and follow a work schedule as well as oral and written instructions;
Maintain harmonious working relations with school officials, other employees, students and public;
Work effectively with individual students and groups of students.
Education & Experience Requirements:
Equivalent to completion of twelfth grade or informal education sufficient to insure ability to perform job duties and work with youth organizations or related youth activities.
The examination process for this recruitment may be comprised of one or any combination of the following: screening of the applicant's training, background, and experience; scored evaluation of responses on a supplemental application; written examination(s); qualifications appraisal oral examination; performance examination; or technical oral examination, scored on a job-related basis. Only the most highly qualified candidates will be invited to continue in the examination process. Successful candidates who pass all parts of the examination process will be placed on the eligibility list in order of their relative merit as determined by these competitive examinations.Qualified candidates on the eligibility list will be contacted for Substitute, Limited Term, and Provisional positions.
