DEPARTMENT: Nursing POSITION TITLE: Lecturer Pool - School of Nursing POSITION DETAILS: The Sacramento State School of Nursing is one of the premier nursing programs in California. We have a welcoming and supportive faculty dedicated to supporting the education of a diverse student body and advancing the profession of nursing. The School of Nursing prepares nurses to lead diverse individuals, families, and communities in achieving optimal health through nursing science, collaborative practice, advocacy, and service. We offer the following programs: traditional BSN, RN-BSN, ADN-BSN Collaborative, MSN (generalist and school nurse), and School Nurse Credential. For the traditional program, our NCLEX pass rates have been above 95% for >10 years. The benefits are outstanding. Position Summary Under the supervision of the Associate Director of the Pierce Greek Life Center, the Student Life Advisor develops and implements programs that facilitate growth in the areas of academic excellence, leadership, change making, belonging, and wellbeing. The Student Life Advisor provides guidance, through programming and advising efforts, to the fraternity and sorority community. The Student Life Advisor is responsible for completion of program-related tasks or projects assigned by the appropriate administrator. The Student Life Advisor in this position also provides back-up generalist support to other program coordinators within the Office of the Dean of Students, including (but not limited to) the Center for Student Organizations and Activities; the Glazer Center for Leadership and Service; the Center for Commuter Life; the Campus Assistance, Response, Engagement, and Support (CARES) Program; and programs that support retention, academic excellence and persistence to graduation. Evening and weekend work are routinely part of this position. This is a full-time (1.0 time-base), benefits eligible, temporary position anticipated to end on June 30, 2025, with the possibility of reappointment. This position is designated exempt under FLSA and is not eligible for overtime compensation. Department Summary The Office of the Dean of Students is a department within the Division of Student Affairs and Campus Diversity. The Office of the Dean of Students promotes student growth and leadership development through teaching, advising and intentional personal interactions. Education and Experience Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university in a related field; including or supplemented by upper division or graduate course work in counseling techniques, interviewing and conflict resolution where such are job related. Possession of the required knowledge and abilities is typically demonstrated through the equivalent of three years of progressively responsible professional student services work experience. One year in the program area to which assigned may be preferred but is not required. A master’s degree in counseling, Clinical Psychology, Social Work, or a directly related field may be substituted for one year of experience. A doctorate degree and the appropriate internship or clinical training in counseling or guidance may be substituted for the three years of experience for positions with a major responsibility for professional career or personal counseling.
