The IT team at Sonoma Water is seeking an enthusiastic, curious, and emotionally intelligent Extra-Help Water IT Business Systems Specialist I. Reporting to the Engineering Programming Manager, this position will be responsible for developing and maintaining code to support and automate business processes. This position will also work supporting our financial systems, business process automation, solution development, and IT infrastructure automation. Additionally, duties may include:
- Working with our business analyst, system administrators, project managers, and users to develop great software solutions
- Maintaining and upgrading internally developed software
- Developing and maintaining system integrations for internal and vendor provided software systems
- Log monitoring and analysis
The ideal candidate will have experience working with object based languages and frameworks (primarily C# and .Net), relational databases (MS SQL, Access), reporting (SSRS, Crystal), analysis tools (SSAS,PowerBI, Tableau), and:

Sonoma Water is a special district formed by the California State Legislature in 1949 and is responsible for providing a safe and reliable water supply to its customers in Sonoma and Marin counties. Sonoma Water also maintains 75 miles of flood control channels and provides sanitation services. Extra-help employees relieve or augment permanent staff. Temporary, extra-help employees are not in the classified civil service and do not have property rights to permanently allocated positions. In addition, they do not receive most employee benefits such as: long-term disability insurance coverage; accrual of vacation; participation in the County retirement program; or eligibility to take promotional examinations.Temporary, extra-help employees are limited in their employment to a maximum of one calendar year. These employees must be off of work for three months before they can be re-employed on an extra help basis.
Extra-help employees who meet the eligibility requirements may qualify for aCounty contribution towardmedical coverage.
