Employment Status: Full-time, At-Will, Exempt position, included in the Management Personnel Plan (MPP).
Work Schedule: Typically, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., occasional early morning, evening and weekend hours may be required.

Under the general direction of the Vice President of Student Affairs, the Assessment and Research Officer will provide administrative oversight and direction for assessment and research activities for the Division of Student Affairs. Typical responsibilities include, but not limited to:
The incumbent will develop comprehensive research and assessment plans of Student Affairs programs and initiatives.
Through assessment, the incumbent will recommend and implemented policies from a strategic and operational perspectives.
Provides expert training and consultation to division leadership and implement a strategic assessment program that aims to support staff in the development and improvement of department programs.
Incumbent must design assessments programs that use common approaches to assessment (e.g., rubrics, program review) and selects appropriate methods that clearly analyzes, interprets and communicates assessment data.
Incumbent will assist client groups in linking assessment results to action plans from start to finish.
Based on evidence and pedagogy, the incumbent will assist/ lead the creation of program goals and outcomes, timelines, and long-term assessment plans.
Incumbent will collaborate and serve on committees and evaluation teams with Institutional Research, Academic Affairs and other campus partners to align, plan, implement and evaluate co-curricular activities.
Will collaborate with departments, programs, and units in maintaining a repository of assessment and evaluation of data (e.g., CampusLabs) to prepare the division and institution for the reflective process of assessment.
Incumbent will be responsible to address issues of equity and diversity when designing and planning assessments.
Incumbent will develop and present meaningful measurements to varied audiences in the formats that are well written and easy to follow by staff, faculty and students.
Will serve as a member of the Student Affairs management team and provide services that support the division and campus mission, vision and core values.
Education & Experience
Possession of a master's degree social sciences, economics, mathematics, statistics, computer science, or related field is. Possession of a doctorate is preferred.
Three (3) to Five (5) years of research experience with progressive responsibility in the field of higher education administration.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Expertise in administrative survey techniques, operations and systems analysis, statistical and research methods, and the ability to interpret and evaluate results to develop sound conclusions and recommend new or revised policies.
Ability to understand problems from a broad, interactive perspective and discern applicable underlying principles to conceive of and develop strategic solutions.
Demonstrated experience in the assessment and research of Student Affairs practices that support student success, learning and development.
Ability to work with representatives from public and private entities and handle potentially sensitive situations. Demonstrated consultative skills in working with internal and external constituent groups.
Ability to effectively present ideas and concepts in written or presentation format and use consultative and facilitation skills to gain consensus.
Proven track record in providing vision and leadership to academic programs, student services, or similar.

Thorough knowledge of and ability to apply extensive expertise to complex programs and/or administrative specialties, including pertinent laws and regulations.
Demonstrated expertise in and advanced knowledge of the principles, problems, and methods of public and business administration and operational and fiscal management.
