Salary: $55,958 - $83,395 per yr USD
Safety Specialists promote recognized safety practices among businesses covered by State and federal safety and health laws and regulations. Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training. This position is in the Las Vegas office of the Mechanical Compliance Section with the Department of Business and Industry, within the Division of Industrial Relations. Incumbents conduct inspections of boilers, pressure vessels and related equipment throughout the State of Nevada. Incumbent may be required to use personal vehicle to conduct State business and travel up to 25% of the time is required. Incumbent must obtain and maintain a State of Nevada Boiler Inspector's Certificate of Competency within twelve months of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment. Working shifts other than 7:00am to 4:00pm may be required, including weekends.
