Under general administrative direction, the 0923 Manager II - Facilities Asset Manager, manages the Airport's Scheduling and Materials Distribution Sections. The position is responsible for managing supervisory staff operating and maintaining the Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) and the Material Management (MM) Program. The daily operation and monitoring of these programs is critical to the Airport as these systems assist in the tracking of repairs, preventative maintenance, assets, inventory and costs for the Airport.
The essential functions of this position include:
- Managing and maintaining programs to ensure the efficient operation for equipment maintenance and servicing for all assets at the Airport.
- Developing, implementing and interpreting standard operating policies and procedures related to maintenance planning and scheduling.
- Maintaining and evaluating equipment and/or maintenance history records and procedures to optimize staff and resources.
- Administering the Airport's Fire Safety preventive maintenance program to assure compliance is maintained with state regulations.
- Overseeing the day-to-day operation of data input into the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to ensure accuracy and validity of information.
- Supervising and managing subordinate personnel engaged in maintenance and repair planning of skilled craft work.
- Analyzing data to prepare reports for Airport management.
- Working with other groups, departments and tenants on work order requests.
- Ensuring that all newly installed equipment is inputted into the CMMS
- Serving as system owner and administrator of the CMMS database.
- Managing and maintaining the Airport's Material Management (MM) Program to ensure that Airport's materials and supplies worth $10 million are safeguarded, accurately recorded and efficiently employed.
- Developing and implementing Policies and Procedures for material management at the Airport.
- Developing and implementing goals and objectives for optimal inventory control.
- Maintaining, receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational, and personnel policies and procedures.
- Supervising staff to oversee the ongoing operation of inventory tracking, storing and distribution of materials and supplies.
- Enforcing and ensuring that all other sections are following proper procedures and in compliance with policies put in place.
Possession of a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university. Experience
Four years of experience as a maintenance or construction planner, estimator and/or scheduler or equivalent in performing activities related to facilities maintenance and/or infrastructure (utilities, equipment and/or related structures) construction and maintenance. License and Certification

Candidates will be administered a written multiple-choice examination that is designed to measure basic knowledge of various supervisory practices and procedures (e.g. directing, counseling, guiding, evaluating, motivating, disciplining, developing and training subordinates, delegation, etc.) as well as customer service and reading comprehension.
This is a standardized examination and, therefore, test questions and test answers arenot
available for public inspection or review.
The Basic Supervisory Examwill be administered either on a computer or in paper format. The type of format will depend on the size of the qualified applicant pool. Qualified candidates will be notified of the type of exam format in their exam appointment notification.
The score you achieve on this examination shall be valid and 'banked' for three years, starting from the date of the examination. This means that, during this three-year time period, you will not be required to take this test again should you apply and be found eligible for a future announcement for which this particular test is used. Please note this test is used for other supervisory classes therefore your test score may be applied to one or more of these classes if you choose to apply to future recruitments. If the test for this future announcement is held within one year of the date of this examination, your score will be automatically applied to that announcement. However, after one year, you have the option to either (a) apply your test score to the other announcement or (b) re-take the test. - Knowledge and experience related to best practices in inventory distribution and management.
A passing score on both the Supervisory Test Battery and the Supplemental Questionnaire Evaluation must be achieved in order to be placed/ranked on the Eligible List. Transportation Security Administration (TSA) Security Clearance
Candidates for employment with the San Francisco Airport Commission are required to undergo a criminal history record check, including FBI fingerprints, and Security Threat Assessment in order to determine eligibility for security clearance and may be required to undergo drug/alcohol screening.
