Under the direction of the IT Division Resource Manager and IT Division Financial Lead, the incumbent will fill the role of Billing Support Technician. This position, with extreme accuracy, closes work orders, does cost recovery, does account changes, answers billing/rate questions and runs the monthly bill. The incumbent billing tech works within the work order/billing system ensuring the data is correct to produce an accurate bill with correct charges for services (one time and/or recurring). This position will support work orders writers with resolving issues, quality assurance and any work order closing issues. The incumbent is required to be in attendance during monthly bill run and should schedule time off accordingly.

This is a full-time (1.0 time-base) benefits eligible, permanent (probationary) position. This position is designated non-exempt under FLSA and is eligible for overtime compensation. Standard SDSU work hours are Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., but may vary based on operational needs.
Education and Experience
Entry to this classification requires fundamental written and oral communication skills, including a sound foundation in English grammar, spelling, and punctuation; an ability to understand standard office procedures; an ability to operate standard office equipment; an ability to learn office technology systems; an ability to perform basic mathematical calculations; and typing and keyboard skills. These entry qualifications would normally be obtained through completion of a high school program or its equivalent and some experience in an office environment.
Preferred Qualifications and Specialized Skills
• Extreme accuracy, checking work, especially with numbers, and a logical and analytical mind.
• Strong Microsoft Office experience
• Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills in working with users to interpret needs and provide appropriate solutions.
• Knowledge of database administration principles and techniques.
• Demonstrated ability to work and communicate with users to effectively identify and efficiently meet their requirements, in person, on the phone or via electronic methods.
• Ability to resolve discrepancies in database and user information.
Compensation and Benefits
Starting salary upon appointment not expected to exceed $3,500 per month. CSU Classification Salary Range: $2,846 - $5,148 per month. Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department's fiscal resources.
