Position Information Do you have experience managing and implementing water and energy related education programs? Apply to be a Water & Energy Principal Programs Specialist! The Water & Energy Principal Program Specialist develops, implements, and oversees Sonoma Water’s Water and Energy Education Program, which includes classroom and outdoor educational curricula, and educational initiatives directed toward specific student populations and subject areas. They supervise up to ten full and/or part-time educators and are responsible for achieving goals related to education and community engagement in Sonoma Water’s strategic plan. As a Water & Energy Principal Program Specialis t, you will develop strong working relationships with peers and executive management at Sonoma Water, as well as with community organizations and water suppliers. Description THE POSITION This recruitment is being conducted to fill four full-time vacancies. The list established by this recruitment may be used to fill future full-time, part-time, limited term, and temporary vacancies for up to one year. The City of Vallejo is seeking candidates for four Senior Water Distribution Technician positions, as collaborative members of the City's Water Department. Senior Water Distribution Technicians are responsible for leading, overseeing, and participating in the more complex and difficult work of staff responsible for providing installation and maintenance services of water distribution systems. While not required, specialized training in or welding experience is highly desirable. DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS The Senior Water Distribution Technician is the lead and advanced journey level in the series. It differs from Water Distribution Technician in that the Senior acts as the lead worker and performs duties and tasks that are the most complex and advanced in the water distribution maintenance field. The Senior Water Distribution Technician is distinguished from the Utility Supervisor in that the Senior only provides lead/direct supervision for the work performed on an assigned crew whereas the Supervisor is a full supervisory class responsible for the full range of direct supervisory responsibilities. SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED Receives general supervision from a higher level supervisory or management position.
