Under the supervision of the Assistant City Manager of Development and Municipal Services, the Director of Streets, Traffic and Drainage performs administrative and professional work in directing the activities of the divisions within the Public Works Department. Work involves the responsibility for planning, directing, managing, coordinating, and overseeing all operations for the divisions. Coordinates with private engineering firms regarding the development of construction plans or studies for roadway, drainage, and traffic-related capital improvement projects. Reviews Planning Department inquiries for sub-division plats, planning cases, licenses-to-use, variances, abandonments, and specific use permits. Ensures compliance with local, state and federal requirements. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Public Administration, Business Administration, Environmental Management, or a closely related field; AND five to seven years of experience in public works, engineering, drainage, streets, and/or traffic operations including five years of management or progressive supervisory experience; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
