We are currently seeking experienced candidates for the position of Senior Integration Developer. The CSU Chancellor's Office, located on the waterfront adjacent to the Aquarium of the Pacific in downtown Long Beach, is the headquarters for the nation's largest and most diverse system of higher education. The salary range for this classification is $6,249 to $12,100 per month.
The California State University, Office of the Chancellor, is seeking a Senior Integration Developer to act as part of the California State University (CSU) Application Development team, this position provides technical support for CSU's PeopleSoft applications. Information Systems' Application Development area encompasses application support and upgrade activities for the on-premise Finance, Campus Solutions, and Human Resources applications for 23 campuses and the CSU Chancellor's Office (CO), and integration with other third-party/external and/or internal systems. The Senior Integration Developer's primary role is to provide data and application integration between on-premise applications and external third parties, and connectivity between two more third parties. This position requires in-depth, advanced knowledge of developing multipurpose integration platforms and implementing extensible API connectors and a broad understanding of technical architecture. This role also requires proactive initiative to resolve the most complex application issues in support/development areas that include implementation, system analysis, planning, design, and development. The expert level position must possess advanced, comprehensive and technical knowledge of the system, including a high level of developer ability. Specific technical support and development assignments may change at any time based on Application Development's projects and priorities, including supporting other applications within the area.
Under the general direction of the Associate Director, Application Operations, the Senior Integration Developer will perform tasks and duties as follows:
-Assess functional and nonfunctional requirements and create integration designs to meet both business and technical needs
-Analyze, design, develop, test, deploy and maintain integration solutions and process flows.
-Design, development, testing, troubleshooting and maintenance of integration components for applications and systems
-Work with ERP development team to ensure that application designs utilize the appropriate integration patterns and standards
-Maintain current knowledge of industry trends and standards
-Build and maintain a solid understanding of the application areas and the business areas they support
-Independent technical design, development coding, testing, configuration and production support of application development using PeopleTools, PeopleCode, Web Services, Integration Broker, Application Designer, complex SQR, etc.
-Mentor and train technical developers on development efforts, best practices, and standardization -Lead and participate in project teams to implement new system functionality -Provide time/cost estimates for development work and deliverables -Deliver effective solutions on time and adhere to development and quality standards.
-Communicate and enforce best practice coding standards.
-Undertake special projects as directed including working with other subject matter experts (SME) teams to facilitate cross-training and coverage of all application areas.
This position requires:
-A BA/BS in Computer Science or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience, experience with integration tools as well as course work in the PeopleSoft HCM and Finance applications.
-Minimum 5 years of experience with XML, JSON and other flat file integrations.
-Minimum 5 years of experience with SQL, XSLT Development.
-Minimum 5 years of technical experience developing and supporting Application Platform. Integration (API) connectivity and multi-platform integrations using SOAP, RPC, REST, etc.
-Minimum 5 years of experience with an integration platform tools such as MuleSoft, Boomi, Informatica, Snaplogic, Workato, Talend or similar.
-Proven recent technical end to end development on major projects and modifications. Proven ability to create new development unassisted based on functional specifications.
-Excellent application implementation lifecycle skills including experience with: translating business requirements into technical designs, contributing to fit/gap analysis, application configurations, and technical specifications.
-Creative problem solving / strategic thinking skills to improve processes and solve complex problems.
-Strong understanding of best practice coding techniques and testing skills.
-Excellent analytical skills, debugging techniques and root cause analysis skills.
-Excellent written and advanced verbal communication skills (including exceptional presentation skills, listening, mentoring and collaboration abilities).
-Ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize, take initiative, and work well under pressure.
-Must be flexible and able to work independently or in a team environment.
-Aptitude and desire to be a "hands on" contributor with attention to detail is essential.
-Strong customer service skills. Desire and willingness to learn and implement new technology.
-Minimum 5 years of technical experience developing and supporting the PeopleSoft HCM and/or Finance applications with demonstrated current development expertise. Development skills include expert proficiency with Fluid, Integration Broker, PeopleTools, PeopleCode, Application Designer, Application Engine, Application Packages, Component Interfaces, Configuration Manager, SQL/SQR, BI Publisher, Web Services, PeopleSoft Update Manager or Change Assistant.
