Qualifications:
•Bachelor's degree or higher in Physical Education, Sport Management, Sports Medicine, Health Science, Sport Science, Exercise Science, Kinesiology or related field from an accredited institution required;

•Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist certification (CSCS) through NSCA or Strength and Conditioning Coach Certified (SCCC) by the CSCCa;

•Current CPR/AED certifications required; Registered Strength and Conditioning Coach (RSCC) preferred; AND

•Minimum of 1 year of practical experience as a strength and conditioning specialist; experience training collegiate athletes preferred.

Applicants must demonstrate a commitment and ability to teach, mentor and work with a diverse student population.

At time of appointment, the successful candidate, if not a U.S. citizen, must have authorization from the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) to work in the United States.

Responsibilities:
Including but not limited to:
•Create and lead an environment that supports the health, welfare, physical and scholastic development of the student-athlete
•Leadership and/or supervisory skills
•Conduct administrative duties as they relate to CSUN Athletic Performance department including a three-time per year performance evaluation of the Athletic Performance Staff
•Manage and supervise the weight training facility including development of policies and procedures for risk management, appropriate supervision, record keeping, evaluation and maintenance
•Develop a timely and seamless line of communication with the Senior Associate Athletic Director- Performance and Student-Athlete Welfare
•Design, develop, implement and evaluate evidence and scientific-based strength conditioning programs which may include but not limited to warm-up, flexibility, speed improvement, body composition management (in coordination with Sports Nutritionist) and injury rehabilitation and return-to-play protocols in coordination with sports medicine staff for assigned teams and programs assigned for evaluation
•Communication with the sport coaches updating that team's strength and conditioning status which includes off-season beginning and season-ending meetings as well as follow-up prior to every training cycle
•Implement timely tests and evaluations of assigned programs; Direct or supervise internship regarding the vision and management of the Internship Program
•Schedule and lead timely Athletic Performance staff meetings; Manage Athletic Performance department budget; Development and operation of weight training facility
•Knowledge of, and the ability to ensure NCAA compliance with, applicable rules and regulations. Demonstrate loyalty in the workplace- represent CSUN Athletic Performance, athletic department and institutional mission through words and actions
