California State University, Los Angeles, invites applications for the above Administrator II position.
The University: California State University, Los Angeles, under the leadership of President, William A. Covino, is one of 23 campuses of the California State University system. Founded in 1947, the University is in the city of Los Angeles, adjacent to the San Gabriel Valley, and has more than 28,000 students who reflect the rich ethnic diversity of the area.

The Position: Reporting to the University Internal Auditor, the incumbent is responsible for the planning, development, and execution of assigned projects included in the University internal audit plan, and for assigned management review requests. The incumbent must assist in the annual preparation of the quantitative risk assessment model; and in the development of a review plan or calendar based on the input from management and other requirements such as Chancellor Office's directives. The incumbent will prepare and maintain adequate work papers as evidence of review work performed and as a basis for reporting purposes. The incumbent will conduct campus reviews aimed at ensuring that University assets are properly and responsibly safeguarded and accounted for and are effectively used in accordance with established policies and procedures. The incumbent will prepare written reports stating findings and expressing opinions in the adequacy and effectiveness of the system/area under review and the efficiency with which activities are carried out. The incumbent will maintain effective working relations with management and all other University personnel.

Required Qualifications and Experience: A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Accounting, Business or related field. The incumbent must have a minimum of two years of related practical audit experience and relevant work experience in a higher education environment with sufficient scope and complexity to conclusively demonstrate the ability to handle the work of the position. The incumbent must also have working knowledge of theories and principles of auditing, internal audit standards, general administration, and management controls as well as strong interpersonal communication and writing skills. The incumbent must have demonstrated ability in computer application, particularly spreadsheet and word processing; and interact with all levels of the organization. Demonstrated interest and ability to work in a multicultural/multiethnic environment. A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate can be offered a position with the CSU. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the application status of applicants or continued employment of current CSU employees who apply for the position.

Desired Qualifications: Advance degree or professional certification, CPA or CIA and demonstrated potential to independently perform all phases of an internal audit.

Appointment: The Administrator II appointment will be made under the guidelines for management and supervisory employees of the California State University. All rights and benefits associated with this appointment are governed by the Management Personnel Plan.
