The City of Austin Parks and Recreation Department ( PARD ) provides protects and preserves a park system that promotes quality recreational, cultural and outdoor experiences for the Austin community.

The Front Desk Attendant is a temporary position scheduled to work up to 20 hours per week - not to exceed 1040 total hours. Duties include, but not limited to:
  • Provide administrative support and monitor the aquatics facility during scheduled hours
  • Perform opening and closing procedures of facility.
  • Provide customer information (in person, via phone and email).
  • Cash handling and record keeping.
  • Front line security of the facility.

90 Day Provision for Additional Vacancy:

Physical Requirements :
  • Tasks may involve bending, lifting, walking, carrying or using a force equal to lifting up to ten (10) pounds.
  • Must be physically and mentally able to communicate, respond and work with participant's needs and safety issues.
  • Possess the ability to work outdoors in any and all types of weather and/or inclement conditions.

Pay Range
$15.00 per hour.

  • Greet visitors and provide information about all aquatic facilities and the Parks and Recreation Department.
  • Answer and direct phone calls to specific persons.
  • Take and relay messages.
  • Cash handling and processing payments.
  • Assist with facility reservations.
  • Assist with program marketing.
  • Coordinate mail flow in and out of office.
  • Send emails and faxes .
  • Maintain and manage Outlook email inbox.
  • Open center and/or close center.
  • Ensure reception area is clean.
  • Cleaning duties as assigned.
