The Assessor-Recorder-Clerk is recruiting for Appraisers II who are responsible for appraisingsingle residential, moderate sized multiple-unit residential, large commercial, industrial and multiple-unit residential property for tax assessment purposes. Appraisers II usecomplex valuation techniques such as the income, market and/or cost approach, and reconcilethe various approaches to arrive at final value judgments.Offices are located inBig Bear,Hesperia, Joshua Tree, Rancho Cucamonga, San Bernardino and Twin Peaks. Current vacanciesexist in Joshua Tree and San Bernardino . The list established for this recruitment will be used to fill the current vacancies as well as future vacancies as they occur throughout the County.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
Certification: Must obtain a valid permanent Appraiser's Certificate issued by the State Board of Equalization within one year of employment. Travel: Travel throughout the County is required. Employees will be required to make provision for transportation. At the time of hire, a valid California driver license and proof of automobile liability insurance must be produced for the individual providing the transportation. Offices are located inBig Bear, Hesperia, Joshua Tree, Rancho Cucamonga, San Bernardino and Twin Peaks.
Possession of a permanent Appraiser's Certificate issued by the California State Board of Equalization AND one (1) year ofexperience appraising single residential, moderate sized multiple-unit residential, AND small commercial properties for tax assessment purposes in a California County Assessor's office.
Experience must have been obtained within the last ten (10) years.
Note:Time spent appraising small commercial properties must beclearly listed on the application.
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or Real Estate; aPermanent Appraiser's Certificate issued by the State Board of Equalization;and three (3) years journey-level appraiser experience in a California County Assessor's office.
Examination :There will be acompetitive evaluationof qualifications based on a review of the Application and Supplemental Questionnaire. It is to your advantage to provide as much relevant and detailed work experience as possible, as resumes will not be reviewed in lieu of the application materials.
