Candidates must not have been convicted of a felony and must successfully pass an extensive background investigation which includes a fingerprint check, polygraph, and psychological evaluation.2)Shifts:

This department is a "24/7" operation, and the incumbent can expect to work rotating, night, weekend, day, and graveyard shifts, as well as holidays and weekends.Minimum RequirementsExperience: One of the following:Option A:
Six (6) months of call intake (911) experience with a law enforcement agency during the past five (5) years.Option B:
Six (6) months of emergency dispatching experience with a fire department or law enforcement agency during the past five (5) years.Option C:
The equivalent of twelve (12) months of full-time experience acquired during the past five (5) years as a regular law enforcement officer (as defined in Section 830.1 and 830.2 of the California Penal Code) assigned to Patrol or a similar function performing duties that included data entry or inquiry via computer using a computer-aided dispatching system.--AND--Certificate:
Possession ofa 120-hourCalifornia P.O.S.T. Basic Dispatch Certificate.-- AND --Keyboarding:
These positions require typing skills of 35 wpm. Indicate typing speed on the application. A recent certificate of typing speed may be required at the interview.Desired Qualifications
The ideal candidate will be an experienced dispatcher who possesses current or recent dispatch experience with a California P.O.S.T. agency.Selection Process Examination :
Applicants who meet the minimum qualifications will be invited to participate in the Criti-CallOnline Performance exam. This examination requires access to a Windows based computer or laptop (no cell phones or tablets), and uninterrupted internet access for at least 2 hours. The Criti-Call Online Performance exam will assess applicants in the following areas:
