The CSU Chancellor's Office, located on the waterfront adjacent to the Aquarium of the Pacific in downtown Long Beach, is the headquarters for the nation's largest and most diverse system of higher education. The salary range for this classification is $4,372 to $10,792 per month.

Position Information
The California State University, Office of the Chancellor, is seeking an Instructional/Multimedia Developer to support the increased integration of educational technology into CalStateTEACH by researching emerging trends and developments, creating multimedia instructional tools and software, supporting faculty professional development and creating educational technology curriculum and materials for candidates. Assists with help ticket system. Collaborates with Lead Technology Coordinator on issues with Amazon Web Services, Canvas, and CalStateTEACH infrastructure.

Under the general direction of the Systemwide Director of CalstateTEACH, the Instructional/Multimedia Developer will perform tasks and duties as follows:

Develop instructional and/or research techniques and applications using technology to enhance and facilitate academic and educational objectives. Examples of work activities include:
-Devise methods for integrating technical tools and applications into faculty instructional delivery and candidate projects;
-Develop courseware and curriculum software tools;
-Collaborate with Lead Technology Coordinator and Information Technology Services on issues with Amazon Web Services, Canvas, and CalStateTEACH infrastructure.
-Aid faculty in incorporating media software materials into instructional content;
-Conduct needs analysis and monitor instructional/research needs in CalStateTEACH; conduct research and prepare technical justification for grants.
-Assists with Help Ticket process.

Create multimedia programs that meet academic and administrative goals. Examples of work activities include:
-Develop and execute multimedia presentation proposals that incorporate all technical and media elements;
-Develop multimedia and/or computer-based interactive instructional applications and materials that include such elements as moving video, sound, computer animation, and text for faculty use in instruction;
-Function as a producer and director for multimedia projects ensuring coordination of all media, including social media, and elements including narration, accessibility, computer graphics, audio and visual effects, recording, mixing, and transmission as appropriate to the project.

This position requires:
-A Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university in computer science, information systems, educational technology, communications, or related fields; Master's degree preferred.
-Foundation knowledge and skills should include working knowledge of multimedia production techniques, e-publication software, common software application packages, equipment platforms, training methods and a basic understanding of networks, data communication, and multimedia systems. A minimum of 3-5 years' experience required. Understanding of mobile learning platforms and iOS platform and devices.
-Knowledge of instructional design theories and methodologies and ability to apply them.
-Knowledge of and ability to evaluate instructional software, courseware development, and multimedia applications.
-Knowledge of systems design and technology integration techniques.
-Knowledge of user interface design principles and applications.
-Ability to develop and create multimedia/video productions.
-Demonstrated ability to work and communicate with users to effectively identify and efficiently meet their requirements.
-Experience working with people to successfully manage technical projects.
-Experience successfully working with teams to create technical systems.
-Ability to brainstorm, design, develop, and implement instructional applications.
-Understanding of programming skills with PHP.
-Knowledge of HTML.

-Expertise in iBooks Author.
-Expertise in educational video production.
