We are currently seeking experienced candidates for the position of Administrative Support Assistant. The CSU Chancellor's Office, located on the waterfront adjacent to the Aquarium of the Pacific in downtown Long Beach, is the headquarters for the nation's largest and most diverse system of higher education. Part-time salary: $15,600/year; $1,300/month

Position Information
The California State University, Office of the Chancellor, is seeking an Administrative Support Assistant to answer and direct the incoming telephone calls of the main switchboard of the Chancellor's Office and support a systemwide emergency call center hotline as needed. In addition, to provide clerical assistance as needed in Operations.


Under the general direction of the Assistant Director, Public Safety, the Administrative Support Assistant will provide reception support for Public Safety. Duties include:
-Answer, screens and redirects incoming telephone calls on the Chancellor's Office main telephone line.
-Alerts Security Officers of any security related issues.
-Supports CSU Long Beach University Police Department, Long Beach Fire, and Long Beach Police Departments in the event of a need for such service.
-Supports emergency call center hotline when needed.
-Receive and file Use of Personal Vehicle forms.
-Assists with clerical tasks when needed.
-Performs other duties as assigned.

This position requires:
-A basic knowledge of computers is required.
-Strong interpersonal and customer service skills required.
-The ability to professionally and diplomatically handle difficult situations/people is required.
-Minimum one year experience within a professional office setting.
