Job Description

A barn attendant at the farm works very closely with the farms animals and guests that visit the farm. Barn attendant must be comfortable cleaning, handling and working with the animals along with providing customer service to the guests visiting the farm. Employees may be assigned other duties as determined by management. Essential duties will include, but are not limited to:
  • Greet guests and provide direction to those entering visitor center and barn
  • Clean and feed the animals in barn daily
  • Maintain clean stalls throughout the day
  • Interact with the guests and animals throughout the day
  • May be asked to clean visitor center, rehabilitation building and bathrooms
  • Rake animal pastures and walk the grounds picking up trash and debris
  • Provide customers with information regarding the animals; will need to learn names, breeds and history of animals at the farm
  • Throwing hay and carrying feed bags to refill food bin
  • Loading and unloading various items for events

  • Ability to follow directions
  • Must be able to provide a high level of customer service
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs
  • Must be able to stand/walk for the entire shift
  • Must be willing to learn to drive truck /trailer
  • Must be willing to learn how to handle animals safely
  • Must be able to work and communicate cooperatively with employees and customers
  • Must wear jeans, farm shirt (provided), tennis shoes/boots with gripped bottom and gloves when cleaning/handling animals.
  • Must be comfortable communicating to groups of people
  • Availability Thursday-Sunday 7:00 am till 5:00 pm
