About the College
The Mike Curb college of Arts, Media, and Communication includes the departments of Art, Cinema and Television Arts, Communication Studies, Journalism, Music, and Theatre with approximately 110 tenured/tenure-track faculty and over 5,000 undergraduate and graduate students. The Mike Curb College is one of CSUN's most publicly visible colleges, producing art exhibitions, theatrical productions, music performances, speech and debate competitions, film screenings, and news programs. The College's facilities include art galleries, theatres, screening rooms, performance halls, and film and television studios as well as a vast array of student labs that range from theatrical costume shops to virtual reality studios. The College is also home to many high impact educational practices including student-run, faculty-mentored groups such as The IntersectLA (a creative agency formerly known as VISCOM), Agency 398 (public relations), The Sundial (journalism), and Five of Five (music and entertainment label), as well as many impactful capstone experiences such as Senior Film Projects in Cinema and Television Arts and Senior Recitals in Music. In addition, the college hosts the following centers, institutes, and community outreach initiatives: The Entertainment Industry Institute, The IntersectLA, The Music Therapy Wellness Clinic, Teenage Drama Workshop, Youth Orchestra, and Communication for Youth.

Major Duties
Under the general supervision of the Director of Finance and Operations (DFO), as well as the direct lead of the Senior Director of Development, the Advancement and Event Coordinator provides advancement, donor relations, scholarships, agency fund monitoring, and community outreach support. The incumbent also provides direct support to the Dean's office as well as the academic departments of the College; is responsible for planning and production of all College events; provides daily administrative support to Dean's Office; helps with expenditure paperwork in relation to University Foundation; and performs other duties as assigned.

Equivalent to five (5) years of full-time, progressively responsible administrative or technical office management experience in an administrative capacity exercising independent judgment and leading the work of others. Equivalent to full-time college or university education/vocational school training in business or job-related field may be substituted for up to two (2) years of the required experience.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Thorough mastery of: office methods, procedures, and practices; and correct English grammar, spelling, and punctuation. Expertise in using office software packages, technology, and systems. Ability and specialized skills to: prepare letters, memos, and reports; transcribe minutes; make travel arrangements; analyze operational and procedural problems and develop, recommend, and evaluate proposed solutions; apply judgment, discretion, and initiative in establishing priorities, providing follow-up and quality control; perform business math and analyze budgetary data; plan, organize, and lead or oversee the work of others; keep moderately complex records and files; Excellent organizational and written/oral communications skills; establish and maintain cooperative working relationships; operate standard office equipment and software. Thorough knowledge of office methods, procedures, and practices; and correct English grammar, punctuation, and correspondence styles. Knowledge of reading transaction statements and reconciling fund balances preferred.

Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule
The university offers an excellent benefits package.

The salary range for this classification is: $3115 - $5639 per month.
The anticipated HIRING RANGE: $3115 - $4,250 dependent upon qualifications and experience.

HOURS: Full-Time; 40 hours per week; 8:00am - 5:00pm, Monday through Friday. May include some evenings and weekends.

REG: This is a Regular position with a one-year probationary period.
