Description Health IT and Emergency Medical Services (EMS) are embarking on innovative technology solutions that will enhance the care and services for our community that supports our mission to help everyone who lives, works, plays and studies in San Mateo County live longer, better lives! We are seeking a well-qualified individual for theposition of Clinical Nurse Educator - Health IT - LimitedTerm that would report directly to the Emergency Medical Services Director & HIT Business Intelligence Manager who are SMCH co-leaders for this grant funded project. The candidate fulfilling this role will have the opportunity to utilize their skills, knowledge, and expertise with the implementation of an innovative California Emergency Management Services Authority (EMSA) S(Search), A (Alert), F(File), R(Reconcile) - SAFR grant funded project. The project is focused on leveraging our Health Information Exchange (HIE) to share vital patient information to the Emergency Management Service (EMS) first responders and the receiving Emergency Department (ED). The information received by the EMS from the HIE (S)Search - the first responders will be relayed to the receiving Emergency Department (ED) electronically while they are in the process of transporting the patient- A(Alert) . This will enable the ED's to have additional information prior to the patient arrival which will integrate into their electronic health record- F(File). Upon discharge there will be a reconciliation of the patient's information that will be sent back to the EMS provider group for quality review- R(Reconcile) . The Clinical Nurse Educator will be able to showcase their clinical knowledge, training skills, leadership, and electronic health record skills with both internal and external stakeholders. Duties will include, but are not limited to: Provide training to EMS staff Provide training to diverse clinical staff withinthe ED setting Create educational materials Create system documentation Support the implementation ofan innovative California Emergency Management Services Authority (EMSA) S(Search), A (Alert), F(File), R(Reconcile)-SAFR grant funded project Communicate with internal (SMC Health) and external (local ED's/Hospitals/EMS providers) stakeholders Assist technical staff in understanding clinical concepts Track and report on training progress and effectiveness The ideal candidate will possess expert knowledge of the electronic medical record for the creation of reports, auditing, and educational responsibilities. Additionally, the incumbent will split their time, dedicating 50% to direct patient care responsibilities and 50% to indirect patient care as the nurse educator.Note: percentage of time is an estimate and will be based on the needs of the day, flexibility is required. This is a limited term, at-will position: Limited Term Employees are assigned to assignments not to exceed three years. Description: POSITION SUMMARY: University Advancement manages the fundraising efforts on behalf of the California State University Maritime Academy that includes soliciting individuals, corporations, foundations and professional associations. Advancement is also responsible for public affairs, strategic communications, alumni relations and government relations. Under the direction of the Vice President for University Advancement (VPUA), the Director of Marine Development will be responsible for managing the California Maritime Academy Foundation's (CMAF) vessel donation program. Working within the guidelines of the prospect management program, this includes the identification, cultivation, and solicitation of prospective donors and building a national network of boat brokers that are familiar with the CMAF vessel donation program. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: • Provide leadership and management of a marine development program that identifies, cultivates, and solicits vessel donors. • Responsible for working with staff and volunteers to secure a minimum of 10 vessel donations annually with a book value of $1.5M. • Conduct a monthly minimum of 20 face-to-face visits with boat brokers, yacht club leaders and boat donation prospects to advance the marine development program with donations and charter opportunities. • Manage all CMAF vessel maintenance, donation title transfers, and prepare IRS documents. • Conduct sea trials and the relocation of vessels as needed. • Responsible for creating, writing, design and production of all solicitation and collateral materials. • Work collaboratively with the California Maritime Academy Foundation's Marine Development Committee. This includes staffing all monthly committee meetings including the development of agendas and recording of all meeting minutes. • Maintain weekly contact with Marine Development Committee volunteers. • Work collaboratively with Advancement Communications staff to maintain a web presence for promoting vessel donations and listing of vessels available for charter or sale. • Maintain proficiency in all applicable IRS and other federal and state laws governing vessel donations. • Prepare board reports and written correspondence with donors and charterers • Work collaboratively with the Cal Maritime Advancement team to represent the University at special events and activities including but not limited to alumni, development, recruitment, and athletic events. • Work with Advancement support staff to ensure timely payment of all marine development invoices • Ensure that all boats are currently registered with USCG or DMV. • Ensure that each vessel is currently insured. • Develop and maintain a working knowledge of the Raisers Edge fundraising software to document and report marine development prospect and donor activities. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: • USCG license to operate up to 100-ton vessels. • Valid driver's license • CPR & First Aid certified or ability to become certified within 120 days of employment • Demonstrated knowledge of marine vessels, the maritime community and vessel acquisitions and sales. • Ability to safely operate sailing and motor vessels in open water. • Ability to operate motor vehicles including the towing of boat or support trailers • Ability to travel frequently. • Demonstrated experience in soliciting donations of vessels and gifts. • Demonstrated ability to motivate and work with volunteers and potential donors. • Demonstrated ability to articulate the missions of the Academy and CMAF. • Exceptional interpersonal skills, including both written and oral communication skills.
