Employment Status: Full time, temporary (1 year), non-exempt position.
Work Schedule: Generally, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

CSU San Bernardino seeks a dynamic, energetic and self-motivated individual to provide support, collaboration, and research/testing in instructional technology. This staff member will report directly to the Academic Technologies & Innovation Assistant Director, and will work with a team of talented instructional technologists and designers in the department. The instructional technologist will research and test new applications and technologies for use in on-site, hybrid, and online courses; will collaborate with instructional designers on integrating such applications into courses the former are developing, and will provide support to faculty as needed in a variety of academic technologies.
Functions include but are not limited to:
Research, explore and assist in making recommendations for academic software and tools for use by faculty and others.
Monitor academic technology trends.
Collaborate with instructional designers in ATI in researching, reviewing providing recommendations, implementing, and defining best practices on new and emerging instructional technology tools.
Provide telephone and in-person support and consultation for faculty on Blackboard learning management system and other academic technologies.
Assist in training faculty using new emerging technologies and equipment.
In collaboration with the ATI Leadership, create and support strategies to increase web-enhanced, hybrid and online instruction at CSUSB.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Candidates must have the following:
Equivalent to a Bachelor's degree in a related field.
Ability to take initiative on researching, using, and teaching others to use current and new academic technologies.
Demonstrated use proficiency in multimedia tools, social media, and mobile technologies.
High level of digital fluency.
Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative environment.
Strong oral and written communication skills; attention to detail.
Six months experience in instructional technology work as described above, or related work.
Master's degree in Educational Technology, Instructional Design or a closely related field from a regionally accredited program.
Knowledge of learning models and learning-related research
Proficiency in graphic design, universal design, and/or LX (learner experience) design.
Previous professional experience working in a higher education environment.
Experience with learning management systems, Blackboard preferred
Demonstrated experience with project management and the ability to meet milestones and deadlines.
