The Americorps Disaster Case Management Program (ADCMP) provides disaster case management services to individuals impacted by the 2018 Camp Fire in Butte County. Under close supervision, carries a caseload of individuals impacted by the Camp Fire. Provides assessments, support, and case management services to this population in Butte County.

Salary: Up to $19,386 for completion of 1200 service hours between July 13, 2020 through June 30, 2021.

Terms of Service:
  • Members will serve three/quarter time, completing 1200 service hours between July 13, 2020 through June 30, 2021.
  • Uniforms are provided and required.
Time Requirements:
  • Members will serve approximately 24 hours per week, and will be assigned shifts serving between8am-6pmMonday through Friday and/or Saturdays between8am-12pm.
Orientation and Training:
Members will receive initial and ongoing orientation and training, including:
  • Training regarding AmeriCorps rules, regulations and prohibited activities
  • Site orientation

  • Review, Evaluate and Direct (RED) Team
  • De-escalation skills

Benefits:
  • Members will receive a living stipend of up to $19,386 for completion of 1200 service hours. The stipend is divided equally into biweekly amounts between July 13, 2020 and June 30, 2021, so those with later start dates or earlier completion dates may not receive the full stipend amount.
  • Members are eligible for an Education award of up to $4266.50 upon successful completion of 1200 service hours.

  • This position permits school attendance during off hours.
  • Members will be part of a dedicated team making a difference for persons impacted by the Camp Fire.

Essential Job Functions

  • Carries a caseload of individuals impacted by the Camp Fire
  • Determines the specific needs of those seeking assistance
  • Assesses the level of need through home/phone/Skype visits in areas such as short term housing, long term housing, replacement of belongings, and mental health services
  • Develops an individualized Disaster Recovery Plan with each client, monitory and follows-up regularly to reassess client status
  • Provides case management services for clients and assists clients in navigating requirements for rebuilding and/or accessing services
  • Updates and maintains client files and records, records and documents services provided in the Disaster Case Management Database system
  • Participates in team meetings to review client progress, concerns, and recommendations
  • Recognizes cultural and linguistic differences of client populations; provides service delivery to appropriate public, private or community services or resources, and provides language interpretation services and reasonable accommodations as needed
  • Supports the relationship between Butte County and the constituent population by demonstrating courteous and cooperative behavior when interfacing with clients, visitors, and other employees
  • Adheres to the standards of the Privacy Act of 1974, {U.S.C. ยง 552A} as amended; maintains and enforces all aspects of confidentiality of client information.

Minimum Qualifications

To Qualify for this Volunteer program, the applicant must meet the following requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work or Behavioral Sciences or related field
OR
  • Pursuing degree in Social Work or Behavioral Science or related field
  • A valid State of California driver's license is required.

Environmental Factors and Conditions/Physical Requirements

  • Serving conditions are various home and office settings; involves the potential exposure to hostile situations; some non-standard work hours are required.
  • May be exposed to hazardous chemicals, drugs, and infectious and communicable diseases.
  • May be required to lift and carry items weighing up to 10 pounds.
