The Associate Vice President (AVP) for Health, Wellness and Student Services is a senior administrative position reporting to the Vice President for Student Affairs (VPSA). This position assists the VPSA with the overall management, planning, administration, and evaluation of the division's programs, services, personnel, policies, procedures, facilities and budgets, and provides leadership in the design and implementation of coordinated campus/division-wide initiatives. The Associate Vice President (AVP) provides administrative oversight for Student Services focused on student success and holistic development in seven (7) functional areas: Accessible Education Center (including Center for Accessible Technology), Counseling Services, Military & Veterans Student Services, Office of University Ombudsperson, Behavior Intervention Team, Student Health Center (including Wellness & Health Promotion) and the UndocuSpartan Resource Center. The AVP works closely with direct reports to develop and assess learning and developmental outcomes as well as service-delivery and standards, and provides consultation that focuses on high quality, student-centered approaches, trends, and best practices. Additionally, the AVP provides visionary leadership in building collaborative partnerships with campus and community constituents to foster access, student engagement, retention, and deep commitment to student success. The AVP partners with university stakeholders to promote co-curricular learning, inclusive excellence, and a campus community that welcomes and supports diverse perspectives. This position represents the university and division on internal and external committees and serves on the division management teams.
