Provides technical consultation to physicians in the assessment and evaluation of patients with serious respiratory problems to provide alternative modalities of care. Observes the quality and quantity of respiratory care services being performed within an assigned area; checks the status of treatment orders and the condition of equipment in use and communicates with nursing and medical personnel concerning such things as interdisciplinary relationships and patient problems. Advises supervisor concerning ongoing personnel, equipment, and supply needs in assigned area. Participates in internal and external transports of patients requiring continuous ventilation. Performs the full range of ventilator care services as prescribed by a physician, including selecting, setting up, and operating a variety of devices such as medication delivery units, humidifiers, positive-pressure breathing machines, and continuous mechanical ventilators in critical care units. Administers complex therapies, such as Inhaled Nitric Oxide (INO therapy), high frequency ventilation, and heliox therapy, and performs Non-Bronchoscopic mini-BALprocedures to provide a non-bronchoscopic method of attaining a sample of bonchoalveolar fluid in the mechanically ventilated patient for the diagnosis of ventilator associated pneumonia (VAP). Introduction The Hospital San Joaquin General Hospital (SJGH) , originally established in 1857, is a general acute care facility providing a full range of inpatient services including General Medical/Surgical Care, High-Risk Obstetrics and Neonatal Intensive Care, Pediatrics and Intensive Care. In addition to the 196-bed hospital, the medical campus includes multiple facilities dedicated to comprehensive outpatient services including Primary Care and Specialty Clinics. The Hospital's Ambulatory Care sites, including offices located at French Camp and Stockton provide over 1,340,000 outpatient clinic visits a year. In addition to providing direct medical services, the hospital is active in providing education for health professionals through post-graduate residency programs in General Surgery, Internal Medicine and Family Practice and has trained over 3,000 physicians since the residency programs were established in 1932. The hospital also participates in clinical affiliation agreements for training programs in a variety of health professions including Registered and Licensed Vocational nurses, Pharmacists, Radiology Technologies, Social Workers and Respiratory Therapists. About The Position The Pharmacy Supervisor supervisor pharmacists, paraprofessional, and clerical support staff at San Joaquin General Hospital. This key role will have significant responsibility in directing pharmacy personnel and coordinating the daily pharmacy operations and services. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of experience as a Registered Pharmacist or has completed an ASHP-credited Pharmacy Practice Residency. THE POSITION The Supervising Plant Operator is a supervisor level position that documents, organizes, and directs staff in the Plant Operator series.
