Assists in the development of conditions of approval for tentative tract maps, parcel maps, variances, and conditional use permits as it relates to traffic and circulation. Conducts and supervises traffic engineering studies and investigations. Coordinates with Risk Management and the City Attorney’s Office regarding traffic-related claims and litigation. May be assigned to traffic control design, signal operations, or traffic investigations and planning; and is rotated at the manager’s discretion. Transportation and Development Services: Analyzes development projects for consistency with Subdivision Map Act, the Santa Ana Municipal code, and the California Environmental Quality Act. POSITION The Project Management Officer (PMO) is an at-will management position that reports to the City Engineer within the Engineering Bureau. The current vacancy is in the Stormwater Management Division, which the PMO will be responsible for managing and is comprised of up to 16 staff responsible for compliance with the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) Permit and regulations, capital improvement project (CIP) engineering design, program and project management, contract administration, and administration of Measure W Municipal and Measure W Regional funds. POSITION The Project Management Officer (PMO) is an at-will management position that reports to the City Engineer within the Engineering Bureau. The Engineering Bureau consists of three divisions - the Civil Engineering Division, Traffic Engineering Division, and Stormwater Management Division. The current vacancy is in the Stormwater Management Division, which the PMO will be responsible for managing and is comprised of up to 16 staff responsible for compliance with the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) Permit and regulations, capital improvement project (CIP) engineering design, program and project management, contract administration, and administration of Measure W Municipal and Measure W Regional funds. REQUIREMENTS TO FILE EDUCATION A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in project management, civil engineering, public or business administration or a related field is required (proof of possession of degree required at the time of submission). EXPERIENCE Three (3) years of progressively responsible engineering and/or project management experience, including management and administration of public infrastructure projects, vendor management, project budget oversight, reporting, communication, public outreach, and management of staff.
