Job Description

Anthropology Lecturer (multiple courses)

The Department of Anthropology at San Francisco State University invites applications for part- time lecturer faculty (non-tenure track) for the Fall 2021 term. Classes begin August 23rd and the final examination period ends on December 17th. In-person class will follow all San Francisco Public Health guidelines, which may include reduced class capacity and masking.

Anth 110 Introduction to Archaeology (in person, Lecture M 3:30-6:15 pm)
Old and New World prehistory: discovery and invention, domestication of plants and animals, science, technology, and other aspects of culture. (3 units)

Anth 302 Foundations of Human Variation (in person, Lecture TTH 9:30-10:45 pm)
The course provides an overview of human biodiversity from an evolutionary perspective with topics that include: the history of the race concept and scientific racism; population genetics; genetic and environmental influences on the phenotype and human adaptation.

Candidates already holding a Ph.D. degree relevant to the course of interest are preferred, but applicants in the late stages of a doctoral program will be considered.
