BUSINESS OPERATIONS COORDINATOR
Administrative Analyst Specialist I
Housing and Residence Life

Salary Range: $3,897 - $7,051/Monthly

Work Schedule: Full-Time, Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; occasional evenings and weekends, temporary one year appointment, may be extended, may become permanent. Exempt classification.

Essential Functions: Under the general direction of the Associate Director of Operations, the Business Operations Coordinator will oversee and is responsible for the administrative processes for the Office of Housing and Residence Life. The incumbent will contract, track and monitor payments. Responsibilities include: key management; communication with students and campus partners; central office reception; mailroom; and conference services. This position has the primary responsibility for implementing processes to achieve full occupancy, culminating in finalizing all room assignments for the academic year, summer residents, summer conference guests and specialized programs. The incumbent will develop and produce reports and has oversight of the housing database system for approximately 2500 students living in the residential hall and apartment community.

Required Qualifications & Experience: Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent training and three years of full-time administrative work experience involving study, analysis, and/or evaluation leading to the development or improvement of administrative policies, procedures, practices, or programs. Experience using database systems (daily usage, report creation, portal development, and content creation), such as StarRez or equivalent. Thorough knowledge of university infrastructure, policies, and procedures with comprehensive knowledge of student housing policies and systems. Thorough knowledge of English grammar, spelling, and punctuation with the ability to clearly communicate orally and in writing. Functional knowledge of and skills in standard office procedures and practices as well as an ability to understand and operate in a variety of organizational structures. Functional knowledge of business mathematics (Arithmetic). Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, campus databases and housing management systems. Demonstrated skills in an institutional/educational environment utilizing customer-oriented and service-centered attitude. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Ability to: coordinate and execute multiple projects; assess and handle shifting and competing priorities with frequent interruptions in a work environment that can be fast paced and sometimes stressful; use and quickly learn new office support technology systems and software packages; analyze data and make accurate projections using business mathematics and basic statistical techniques; independently apply knowledge and interpret policy in decision making and problem-solving while exercising sound judgement; adapt to frequent changes in policies and procedures and communicate information; analyze situations and make recommendations to improve or develop new office policies, procedures, and practices; and analyze and address problems using reasoning and the interpretation and application of theories and principles to develop and recommend alternatives and the best course of action. Demonstrated ability to: maintain a high degree of confidentiality, sound judgment, discretion, tact and a willing to take initiative; establish and maintain effective working relationships and communications within a diverse population, strong listening and interpretive skills, and the ability to deal positively with unexpected developments and diverse perspectives in and outside the University. Demonstrated interest and ability to work in a multicultural/multiethnic environment. A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate can be offered a position with the CSU. Desired Qualifications: Master's degree and three years of progressively responsible technical experience using a housing database system.
