Primary Duties Working independently and under general direction of the Director of Financial Aid, the Associate Director of Systems and Compliance will oversee and supervise the Processing and Systems unit of the Financial Aid & Scholarship Office. Incumbent's primary responsibility is to support the Financial Aid Office by providing advice, consultation as well as timely and effective services regarding all aspects of the PeopleSoft Financial Aid system module and other financial aid processing systems and solutions, as well as regulatory compliance and integration of compliance requirements into systems. Incumbent provides expertise in updating, maintaining, and troubleshooting systems processes; data analysis, gathering, and reporting; business process analysis, development and implementation; systems use analysis and needs assessment; operational metrics and performance; research, analysis and development of solutions and product options; management of relationships with software developers on- and off-campus, documentation of system procedures and calendar, training, and advisement.

This position is a blend of Financial Aid leadership, administrative knowledge, functional expertise in student administration software, and business process development. The position is responsible for leadership in the systems area of Financial Aid and Scholarships Office, which includes the completion of all tasks, projects, and administrative mandates necessary to achieve department, division and University goals while providing support for the strategic system needs of the department.

• Thorough knowledge of:
• Financial aid related software and database programs.
• Expertise with data reporting, query/SQL tools and spreadsheet design.
• Funds allocation and managing expenditures within allocations; revision and re-award of funds.

• Working knowledge of:
• Financial Aid and integration with Oracle/PeopleSoft Student Administration, Student ERP systems, and related processes that ensure data integrity, compliance, and adequate internal controls or equivalent.
• Financial aid or similar student administration processes to be able to support campus needs and comply with regulatory requirements.
• Federal applications and servicers (e.g., COD, NSLDS, FAA, EDConnect, EDExpress).
• Proficiency in the use of standard office equipment (computers, copiers, phones, fax) and computer software such as Microsoft Word, Excel,Outlook,and PowerPoint, and database management.

• General knowledge of:
• Collective bargaining rights and responsibilities.
• Personnel management practices and techniques.

Required Education and/or Experience Requires the equivalent to a bachelor's degree in information technology, accounting, business administration or relevant area
AND
Three years progressively responsible work experience, including a minimum of two (2) years of direct experience implementing or managing the support of the Financial Aid PeopleSoft Module or equivalent

A minimum of 1 year leading and/or supervising professional staff.

This position is exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Incumbent/applicant will need to be able to perform the essential job functions (duties) of this position with or without reasonable accommodation. This position alternates between remaining in a stationary position operating a personal computer for long periods of time and frequently moving about inside the office. Must be able to travel across campus to other offices and buildings for meetings and events.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Typical office environment operating standard office equipment. This is a dynamic office with frequent to constant student interaction. Requires flexible schedule, early morning, evening or weekend hours are required to complete work projects, attend workshops, conferences or meetings. Occasional long-distance travel may be required.
