The Department of Economics in the Craig School of Business at California State University, Fresno invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position at the level of Assistant Professor. Student learning outcomes assessment and service learning are important components of the university curriculum. Candidates are expected to have teaching and research interests in Stratification Economics or closely related fields. Faculty responsibilities include teaching upper-division undergraduate as well as principles of economics courses, research and publication, advising students, and service at all university levels. The successful candidates will be expected to work cooperatively with faculty and staff in the department and school. Specific assignments are dependent on departmental needs and the background of the individual.

Required Education:

An earned doctorate (Ph.D.) in Economics or closely related discipline from an accredited (or equivalent) institution. Applicants nearing completion of the doctorate (ABD) in Economics or closely related discipline will also be considered; however, for an appointment, the doctorate must be completed by August 1, 2022.

Required Experience:

1. Evidence of scholarly and research activity in Stratification Economics or closely related fields, with a primary focus on intergroup inequality, which may include but is not limited to interest in racial, ethnic, and gender stratification, social group hierarchy, and policy analysis.

2. Ability to demonstrate a commitment to working effectively with faculty, staff, and students from diverse ethnic, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds

Preferred Experience:

1. Preferred related areas include economic history, labor economics, public economics, gender in the economy, applied econometrics, and other related Stratification Economics sub-fields.

2. Teaching experience in Stratification Economics or related areas at the undergraduate level.
