BEHAVIORAL HEALTH INTEGRATION

The women's health clinic (WHC) at ARMC serves the most vulnerable women and families in the Inland Empire. At least 90% of our patient population is enrolled in Medi-Cal, and the majority of the rest of the patients we serve have no insurance plan. We accept patients who have very little access to other providers due to the high-risk nature of their pregnancy due to multiple co-morbid conditions or late access to care. These patients have profound social complexities, including homelessness, food scarcity, and transportation issues which necessitate the provision of whole-person care and on-site social and mental health services to impact and reduce pregnancy risks due to social determinants of health. The ARMC WHC BHI program will care for pregnant and post-partum women in San Bernardino County through early detection of mental health disorders and substance use disorders resulting in reduced alcohol and other drug misuse and early intervention and treatment opportunities.
