The Nevada Department of Corrections has a vacancy for a Supply Assistant at Lovelock Correctional Center, in Lovelock. Supply Assistants receive, store, issue, ship, inventory and maintains records in the Lovelock Correctional Center Warehouse. In addition, they may reorder stocked items to maintain designated supply levels, perform limited item- or service-specific procurement with supervisory review, and/or deliver and pick up property, equipment, expendable stores and supplies including hazardous materials on a continuing basis within the local area or the grounds of a large institution. General knowledge of storekeeping methods and good communication skills are required.
The incumbent must have the ability to systematically arrange similar kinds of stock and/or property into groups or categories according to established criteria; add, subtract, multiply and divide numbers; perform routine work according to set procedures and sequence; establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others; read and understand catalogs, instructions, forms, and other materials commonly used in a supply/procurement environment; complete standard forms; lift and move heavy objects; and communicate effectively with others in person and on the telephone.

The Examination Application Evaluation Exam
- Graduation from high school or equivalent education and one year of experience in stocking, shipping, issuing and receiving materials in a retail, storeroom or warehouse environment; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.
- The exam will consist of an application and resume evaluation. It is essential that applications/resumes include detailed information with time frames regarding education and experience. The most qualified applicants will be contacted by the hiring agency for interview. The hiring agency may require specific skills related testing as part of the interviewing process.
